Wild Atlantic Way

A one-of-a-kind adventure and the road trip of a lifetime, the Wild Atlantic Way’s stunning 2,500km stretch of coast offers all this and more. Whether you want to dive into those invigorating sea swells, indulge in gastronomic gems or simply embrace those scenic vistas at a pace all your own; the route encompasses seven counties and never fails to create countless memories.

JUST ON OUR DOORSTEP - THE BAY COAST

The Wild Atlantic Way, a 2,500km touring route along the west coast of Ireland, is divided into six different regions, each of which has its own unique offering. In the salty fresh-air playground of the Bay Coast, which spans from Doran’s Point Discovery Point in County Mayo to Traught Beach on the south shore of Galway Bay, you’ll discover soaring hills sweeping down to a shoreline that’s laced with loughs, coves, beaches and islets.

TO THE SOUTH - THE CLIFF COAST

The Cliff Coast, a rugged and incredibly beautiful section of the Wild Atlantic Way, really has to be seen to be believed. Moving from south County Galway through Clare and into the north of Kerry, this region is home to some incredibly dramatic ice-age landscapes. Sheer cliff faces sweep down to the crashing ocean below; from their wild and windy peaks, you can gaze out to the many islands dotted in the swirling Atlantic.

TO THE NORTH - THE SURF COAST

There’s so much to see and do along the invigorating, wave-crashed Surf Coast. Sligo and Mayo are two of Ireland’s most photogenic and engaging counties and are ideal places to immerse yourself in. Experience the ‘thrill of Strandhill’; a bustling coastal town that boasts delicious food, fun outdoor activities and plenty of craic. There’s also an opportunity to learn about foraging for seaweed (an activity that’s been popular here for centuries), try a spot of surfing, explore hidden caves and enjoy captivating views from one of the coast’s most well-known headlands.
